Before Moviepass, and before the streaming wars, people were used to having access to an expansive library of shows and movies from the comfort of their home, but I found the movie-going experience in New York was somewhat lacking in comparison, limited by technology, and mostly non-customizable. I thought, “how could we replicate the feeling of curated and comfortable watching at home, and combine it with the unmistakable sensory and social experience of going to your favorite local theater?”

The result was a hybrid service that would let you discover and reserve tickets to various movie-related events on your digital devices, while promising a seamless in-person experience.
