Long Term Resource Planning

2021 – 2022

At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, many of the data analysts are embedded in different services of the hospital (e.g., Surgery. Ambulatory care). This allows them to help leadership make timely decisions around how to flex room capacity across all MSK sites, informed by projected demand for the next 10 years.

Through my involvement, I helped the Analytics team scale this deliverable from a screenshot of a spreadsheet inserted into a PowerPoint deck to a set of interactive tools that uses a unified assumption methodology and is meant to be easily updatable so it can be used for years to come.

Though the analysts weren’t trained as front-end developers, they were able to create a minimum viable product from my Illustrator files and Figma designs and prototypes. This project also helped break down silos between teams of differently-skilled individuals and led to additional opportunities to collaborate on data-driven dashboards for hospital leadership.
